Film and TV Trade Journals Collection

This is a collection of film and TV industry trade journals held at the AFI Research Collection (AFIRC). The film and trade journals have been collected by the AFIRC for many years, one of the reasons being that the Australian Film Institute (whom ran the AFIRC for many years) had an interest in getting up to date news and information about the film industry for their operations. With the AFIRC we have found that the journals have been a resource used by film and TV industry researchers who have found that the trade journals can be used as a historical resource to obtain data on the industry at various time periods and places. The types of journals held at the AFIRC are based around the world, though there is a concentration of Australian based industry journals. The journals are mainly paper based, however there are a number kept on microfilm.
