资源简介:
Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a chronic condition causing recurrent inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract, primarily encompassing Crohns Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. A key characteristic of IBD is the rapid recruitment and prolonged persistence of immune cells within the intestinal interstitium, having a major role both in the induction and continuation of the inflammatory state observed in IBD. T cells have been identified as major drivers of IBD, with their trafficking to the gut and accumulation in the intestinal mucosa facilitating both the development and perpetuation of chronic intestinal inflammation.Cannabis has recently gained popularity as a method of symptomatic relief among IBD patients. However, the role of the endocannabinoid system, particularly cannabinoid receptor 2, in T cell biology and subsequent intestinal inflammation is yet to be fully understood. Therefore, we utilised RNA sequencing to get an unbiased view on the transcriptional alterations occurring in T cells following the manipulation of cannabinoid receptor 2 signalling in Jurkat T cells.
