The dataset is part of a Master degree study, developed by Dr Luigi Palmisano, with a thesis titled “Evaluation of transitional coastal enviroment health status: Torre Guaceto” in 2005. The dataset includes taxonomic and morphological data of phytoplankton organisms collected in Torre Guaceto (Apulia, Italy), a marine protected area, located 15 km to the North of Brindisi. Torre Guaceto is a Site of Community Importance (SIC) and Special Protected Area.
