Picturae_MfN – Specimen Label Images from the Hexapoda Collection at the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin

The Picturae_MfN dataset includes 11,649 low-resolution JPEG images (498×281 pixels) of specimen labels from Hexapoda collections, digitized by the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin. It comprises 10,670 single-label and 979 multi-label annotated images, covering specimens from various countries and dates. The dataset supports large-scale biodiversity informatics research and computer vision tasks such as automated label reading, classification, and data extraction from historical entomological records.
