Quantification of Xvelo isoforms in oocytes injected with antisense oligonucleotides.

For each analyzed oocyte (in the same experiment yielding the data in Figure 8) ImageJ [32] was used to calculate mean RGB brightness values over areas of four germ plasm islands; background was measured over four areas; these were averaged and the background subtracted from the island average. This is shown in the second and fourth columns. Only the XeloSV fluorescence of the ASXveloSV and ASXveloFL-SV oligo-injected oocytes is significantly different from the controls at greater than the 95% level, as judged by the one tailed Student t-test.
