We examined soil-atmosphere GHG fluxes (<i>Fs</i>) in a sisal chronosequence in Teita Sisal Estate, the third largest sisal estate in the world located in southern Kenya. The effects of stand age on <i>Fs</i> were studied using static chamber and gas chromatography for one year in seven sisal stands with different ages (S1, S2 and S3 young stands: 1-3 years, S7 and S8 mature stands: 7-8 years, and S13 and S14 old stands: 13-14 years), and adjacent bushland as a control site representing the surrounding land use type.
