We have assessed the effects of river fragmentation on fish local dispersal by comparing a naturally fragmented and a highly modified river using environmental DNA metabarcoding. For this, water samples were collected upstream and downstream at six natural or artificial barriers at both rivers to assess fish species dispersal limitations.
