Heterostelium multicystogenum strain:AS2 Genome sequencing and assembly. Heterostelium multicystogenum strain:AS2

Because this species forms microcysts with high efficiency, we originally planned to use Polysphondylium multicystogenum in a mutagenesis study to identify genes involved in encystation. The genome was sequenced with PacBIO sequencing to yield the wild type reference genome. We then used it as another group 2 genome for gene annotation in a phylogenetic study of 52 Dictyostelids.
