Impact of aging on DNA structure-induced genetic instability

Aging has long since been associated with an increase in cancer incidence rates. Genetic instability is a common hallmark of both cancer and aging, with alternative DNA-forming sequences presenting as an inherent sources of genomic instability. Here, we performed targeted amplicon NGS on an mutation reporter chromosomally integrated into a transgenic mouse genome to evaluate the impact of age on a mutagenic mirror-repeat triplex-forming sequence.
