Spatially Coincident Landsat 7 ETM+ and Landsat 8 OLI Surface Reflectance Samples with Covariates in the Conterminous United States

This dataset contains coincident Landsat 7 Enhanced Thematic Mapper Plus (ETM+) and Landsat 8 Operational Land Imager (OLI) observations in the conterminous United States used to characterize and correct cross-sensor differences in surface reflectance and derived vegetation indices. 4,820,405 observations were extracted from USGS Landsat Collection 2 Level-2 Tier 1 imagery acquired during 2013–2021 and screened using the quality-control, atmospheric, and sampling procedures documented in the accompanying README. The dataset supports the development and evaluation of band- and index-level harmonization functions described in the associated manuscript. Each record represents a paired ETM+–OLI observation, spectral indices, elevation, NLCD landcover, and intersecting EPA ecoregions, HUC02 watersheds, and U.S. states. This release represents the dataset used for the initial manuscript submission.
