Investigating Psychological Safety in Requirements Engineering

This repository provides the complete set of materials supporting the study “Investigating Psychological Safety in Requirements Engineering.” It includes both the artifacts designed to guide the empirical investigation and the materials generated throughout the research process.

The contents are organized into clearly labeled files and folders corresponding to different stages of the study. Specifically, the repository includes: (i) the study protocol, which details the research design and the semi-structured interview guide; (ii) slides used to introduce key concepts related to psychological safety to participants; (iii) the informed consent form; (iv) the participant characterization instrument; (v) the compiled participant characterization data; and (vi) the interview transcripts.

To navigate the repository, users can follow the numbering and file names provided in this folder. We recommend starting with the study protocol to understand the overall design and procedures. The slides can then be consulted to understand how core concepts were presented to participants prior to the interviews. The informed consent and participant characterization form provide additional context on ethical procedures and participant profiling. The compiled characterization data offers an overview of the participants involved in the study. Finally, the interview transcripts contain the primary empirical data used for the analysis.

All materials have been carefully organized to facilitate access and comprehension. The interview transcripts are anonymized to preserve participants’ confidentiality. Files are provided in commonly accessible formats (e.g., PDF) to ensure ease of use across different platforms.

By making these materials publicly available, we aim to promote transparency, support reproducibility, and enable other researchers to examine, reuse, and build upon this work. This repository also provides a richer view of the empirical grounding of the findings reported in the main manuscript.
