This thesis dicusses the phase behvaiour of lipid based nanoparticles (liposomes and cubosomes) under the influence of temperature and upon encapsulation of anti-microbial and anti cancer drugs and peptides. Techniques used are DLS, SAXS, DSC, ITC, CD spectroscopy, LC-MS, Cell toxicity assays to evaluate the physicochemical and biological properties of these nano systems. It enhances our knowledge of nanostructure-function relationships and enables us to rationally engineer the next generation of therapeutics for the growing oral health burden from cancer and antimicrobial resistance.
