Social determinant data

Social determinant data will include the examination of factors that will include income levels, educational levels, race/ethnicity, gender and sexual identity, and access to healthcare that could impact the risk of cancer in the area. More importantly, the SES of residents living close to petrochemical plants, as low-income communities, communities of color, and other marginalized groups, are disproportionately impacted by environmental hazards, given the fact that health insurance coverage rates and access to healthcare in the region may impact the ability to seek cancer treatment and preventive care. In addition, we will collect measures of QoL and trauma through surveys and in-depth interviews, and focus group discussions.
