Dataset for "Gut microbiota-derived metabolites as potential therapeutic agents for intervertebral disc degeneration"

This dataset contains the supplementary materials supporting the manuscript titled “Gut microbiota-derived metabolites as potential therapeutic agents for intervertebral disc degeneration: insights from network pharmacology and molecular docking.” It includes two files that provide all underlying data required for reproducing the network pharmacology workflow and molecular docking analyses. Supplementary.docx – This document contains detailed results of the molecular docking analyses, including docking scores, binding modes, and structural interpretations for all metabolite–target pairs. It also provides comprehensive descriptions of the metabolites, target proteins, and supporting biological information used in the study. Supplementary excel.xlsx – This file includes the complete lists of genes obtained from multiple public databases related to intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD), gut microbiota-derived metabolites, and their associated targets. It also summarizes gene intersections, integrated target sets, and dataset preprocessing steps used in constructing the network pharmacology model. All genes, metabolites, and protein structures included in this dataset were collected from publicly accessible databases such as GeneCards, OMIM,, PubChem, and UniProt. These files enable full transparency and reproducibility of the analytical pipeline while containing no human subject data or identifiable personal information.
