Analysis of MC 252 Control Oil by five different laboratories as a quality control sample for biomarkers, PAH, SHC, TPH, BTEX/PIANO

Macondo source oil (an aliquot of the oil collected during the Deepwater Horizon (DWH) oil release) was analyzed as a quality control (QC) sample by analytical laboratories along with the analyses of the field collected environmental samples. This QC sample analysis is generally referred to as “MC252 control oil.” MC252 control oil analyses were specified as an analytical requirement in the NRDA Analytical Quality Assurance Plan (NOAA 2011). This data set includes the chemistry data associated with available MC252 control oil analyses that support the chemistry data posting available on this website. In all, five different labs analyzed a laboratory control oil derived from the same parent source. There are 5007 different analyses of the control oil children. The control oil samples were analyzed for biomarkers, BTEX/PIANO, PAH/aPAH, Other PAH, SHC, TPH, and solids.
