A study conducted in Italy in 2019 reveals that offline purchases of clothing generally led to less emissions of carbon dioxide if the store was not reached by car. On the other hand, if the distance travelled by car to reach a physical store amounted to about two kilometers, online shopping was estimated to be more eco-friendly.
