Metagenomic profile of shrimp fed with five probiotic bacteria antagonistic to Vibrio parahaemolyticus (AHPND strains)

The aim of this project was to assess the antagonism of the cultivable microbiota against Vibrio parahaemolyticus, the causative agent of early mortality syndrome (EMS), currently known as acute hepatopancreatic necrosis disease (AHPND), VPAHPND in vitro. To evaluate the best strains by in vivo challenges with laboratory bioassays, five probiotic bacteria were selected, and the microbiota of intestine, hepatopancreas, and stomach were identified using the high-throughput 16S rRNA sequencing approach.
