Bacterial communities from coastal seawater in Northern Adriatic Sea (Gulf of Trieste)

Water samples were collected in the Northern Adriatic Sea (Gulf of Trieste) during in situ survey (from March 2015 to February 2016 and from December 2018 to October 2019). A large volume of seawater (500 mL – 1L) was filtered onto 0.2 µm polyethersulphonic filters. DNA was extracted and hypervariable V3-V4 region (341F-785R) of the bacterial 16S rRNA was amplified. Sequencing was performed on the Illumina Miseq platform (2 × 300 bp pair-end).
