资源简介:
Fucoxanthin is an orange carotenoid derived predominantly from brown algae and possesses cardiovascular protective effects and antitumor, antidiabetic, anti-inflammatory, and anty-obesity activities. It was suggested that fucoxanthin consumed as a component of brown algae might contribute to a longer lifespan of the population of South-East Asia. Recent studies revaled that Drosophila treatment with fucoxanthin altered several age-associated molecular pathways including related to mitochondrial function which is the main source of ROS in cells. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the antioxidant effect of fucoxanthin in normal human fibroblasts of early and late passages and to estimate the transcriptomic changes during cellular senescence of fibroblasts treated with fucoxanthin.
