Mangrove Potential Map - Data Description This dataset supports the development of a Mangrove Potential Map (MPM), aimed at identifying acuaculture areas suitable for mangrove restoration and conservation. The dataset integrates multiple environmental factors relevant to mangrove growth and survival. Included layers: Pond Classification (PON.zip): Identifies current aquaculture areas. Accommodation Space (ACC.zip): Defines areas suitable for mangroves based on elevation and the highest astronomical tide (HAT). Historical Mangrove Presence (HIS.zip): Maps locations where mangroves historically existed. Proximity Layers: Proximity to existing mangroves (PRM.zip) Proximity to coastlines (PRC.zip) Proximity to rivers (PRR.zip, if applicable) Subsidence Rates (SUB.zip): Highlights areas experiencing land subsidence, which may influence mangrove survival. Flood and Aquaculture Dynamics: Flood differences relative to aquaculture and vegetation (flloodmap_dif_rel_aqua_veg.zip) Flood extent differences affecting aquaculture/vegetation (floodextent_dif_aqua_veg.zip) Combined Mangrove Potential Map (MPM.zip): Synthesizes the above layers into a comprehensive potential map for mangrove restoration planning.
