EXISTENTIAL PSYCHOLOGY IN OLDER ADULTS
收藏资源简介:
Existential psychology in older adults represents an important interdisciplinary field that integrates psychological, philosophical, medical, and sociocultural perspectives on aging, meaning-making, and human development in late adulthood. This scientific article examines existential experiences of elderly individuals, focusing on issues such as meaning of life, loneliness, death anxiety, freedom, responsibility, isolation, and self-actualization within the context of Uzbek socio-cultural and educational realities. The study emphasizes that aging is not only a biological process but also a deep existential transition in which individuals reassess their life achievements, relationships, and personal identity. Particular attention is given to how cultural traditions, family structures, religious beliefs, and community values in Uzbekistan influence existential well-being among older adults. The article also explores psychological adaptation strategies, including spiritual coping, social engagement, reminiscence, and acceptance of life cycles. It argues that existential fulfillment in old age is closely linked to emotional support, social inclusion, and the ability to find meaning even in conditions of physical decline or social isolation.
