At the heart of AltaSQL is the metadata repository — Snowflake-native table that captures and manages all the logic needed to manage and generate SQL. These repositories are organized into reusable View Definitions. View Definitions contain two categories of metadata. View Columns and AltaSQL Tags.

"View Column" definitions generate column alias syntax column in SELECT, CREATE VIEW and CTAS DDL statements.

AltaSQL Tags-are user defined metadata catalog capabilities including:

·       Join Logic: Define environment specific FROM clauses with JOIN conditions without hand coding SQL.

·       Modular SQL Generation: Insert reusable logic, expressions, or filters into generated SQL.

·       Enhanced Documentation: Add extended description.

·       Complete, ready to run SQL statements and scripts

·       Predefined SQL, rules and guardrail for LLM agents

AltaSQL does not execute generated SQL, enabling review and modification of SQL statements. Generated SQL may be executed in SQL editors or procedural code.

By leveraging AltaSQL’s patented architecture, users can:
