Vegetative properties of Danby Woods grasslands

Observations were made in the grasslands of Danby Woods on the York University Keele Campus. A 1m by 1m quadrat was placed directly on the ground at random and the floral and vegatative contents of the quadrat were analyzed. Data recorded included nomenclature of species present in the quadrat,species richness, individual species abundance and area coverage. 20 samples were taken for this dataset. Leaf and flower petal samples were taken from ambiguous species to confirm that the accuracy of binomial classifications they were categorized under. Graminoids were excluded from recorded species as they were present in abundance in all samples taken.
