Acidocella sp. C78 is heterotrophic acidophilic iron-reducing bacterium isolated from the central basin of acidic lignite mine lake 77 located in the Lusatian district of Brandenburg, Germany.Acidocella has also been detected among slimes, biofilms growing varying acidic conditions. Currently, the genus contains 12 reference assembly identified in NCBI assembly database. Here, a genome of Acidocella sp. C78 was sequenced and it reveals metabolic activities in iron snow.
