NASCAR has experienced a problem with declining television viewing figures in recent years. While the total viewership across the 2018 season stood at over 125 million, this figure fell to less than 120 million for the 2019 season. The most viewed event of the 2019 season was the Daytona 500 on February 17, which attracted over nine million TV viewers.
