资源简介:
Sitka Spruce is a highly abundant wood resource in Scotland and the UK. During its processing a significant amount of sawdust is produced and may be considered as a co-product of the process. The sawdust, like the tree, contains 3 major biopolymers and there is interest in their isolation and processing. An exploration of the use of alcohol pretreatment for the isolation of sitka spruce lignin from sawdust is developed and the obtained lignin carefully analysed. A series of chemical transformations convert the obtained lignin into a selectively oxidised structures known as ligninOX. LigninOX is of considerable interest in the production of new materials and green feedstock chemicals.
