Austrian Lloyd fleet (1837-1905)

This dataset provides aggregated annual data on the evolution of the fleet of the Lloyd Austriaco/Österreichischer Lloyd between 1837 and 1905, compiled from the company’s annual reports to shareholders. For each year, the Excel file records the total number of vessels in service, the overall fleet tonnage, and the total engine horsepower as reported in the original printed sources. The data were extracted and standardised from the annual reports to enable analysis of the growth, technological development, and operational scale of the company’s fleet over time. Values reproduce the information given in the source, with only minimal normalisation applied to ensure consistency in units and formatting across the series.
