VPRS 12091 Procedures, Regulations and Instructions

The spine of this folder is labelled: Instructions, Directions, Notes etc regarding the Railways Department: issued by the Auditor General, Assistant Auditor General, Railways, treasury, Railways Auditor, Premiers Department, etc.As this label suggests, this series consists of copies of letters, memoranda, circulars, and published information (such as amendments to regulations). It would seem that these records were collated by a railways employee or a section within Victorian Railways, to serve as a reference to procedures and regulations on various matters, with an emphasis on accounting matters.The records often contain advice or rulings on regulations and legislation (such as the Railways Act) from the Auditor General or the Crown Solicitor. Many of the records are clippings from the Weekly Notices published by the Victorian Railways.
