Flavo-A3 tribe bacterioplankton isolate genome sequencing and assembly

Freshwater bacterioplankton has several clusters of worldwide distribution. The strains SHINM13, GENT11, and GENT5 were isolated from surface river water in Japan using the size exclusion assay method (SEAM). This strain has closed to the Flavo-A3 tribe which has been reported by Newton et al. (Microbiol Mol Biol Rev., 75(1), 2011, 14-49.) as the environmental clone of 47 lakes. This strain was a ammonifying bacterium. The Flavo-A3 tribe bacterial reads have been frequently obtained from surface river water in Japan. Our findings suggest that the Flavo-A3 tribe bacteria may play an important role of nitrogen cycling in river ecosystems.
