Results of a study of the effect of dissolved wood organics on the adsorption of wood extractives onto bentonite

This data set was the output of a student research project conducted by Taylor J Blackstock (School of Chemistry Honours student 2014) and includes concentration measurements of the wood extractives and dissolved organic matter (DOM) from  pinus radiata thermomechnical pulp obtained from Norske Skog Paper Mill in Tasmania. The concentrations were measured using gas chromatography. The data set also includes adsorption measurements of the wood extractives onto bentonite along with particle size distributions of the wood extractives and bentonite as well as  surface area measurements of the bentonite samples. The format of the data is Excel spreadsheets.  GC chromatographs of the raw data in Varian data file format are available. There is a lab notebook documenting procedures and some of the data.  Data was collected between Nov 2013-Feb 2014. A Varian CP-3800 gas chromatograph fitted with a Varian CP-8400 auto sampler and a flame ionisation detector. On-column injection with variable temperature ramping was used with a Zebron 1 column. A Micromeritics Saturn Digisizer 5200 laser particle size analyser (LPSA) was used for the particle size analysis.  A Micromeritics Tristar II 3020 V1.01 was used to measure the BET surface area
