An on-board expendable bathythermograph (XBT) measurement was taken in the Northern Gulf of Mexico in September 10, 2016 aboard the R/V Acadiana during a buoy deployment cruise. A Lockheed Martin Sippican MK21 with a hand-held launcher was used to collect temperature profiles for sound speed profile calculation.
