The answer of adolescents to the question: how to eradicate domestic and family violence against women in Brazil?

Abstract This article aimed analyse the perception of adolescents about what they considered necessary to reduce cases of domestic and family violence against women. It was concluded that, given the gap left by the Brazilian school curriculum regarding human rights discussions, the personal experiences of adolescents and the media seem to be the main influencers in their opinion formation process, which becomes problematic when reality experienced is permeated by violence, which ends up naturalized by the adolescent; and when the media conducts discriminatory approaches, or adopts a punitive discourse, both incompatible with a system of protection of human rights.
