Toxoplasmosis is a widespread parasitic infection caused by Toxoplasma gondii. This usually subclinical infection can exert severe, if not fatal outcomes to certain groups of patients. Majority of the T. gondii belongs to three distinct clonal lineages, each of which comes with a number of representative strains. Biological and molecular studies have been conducted to study differences across the strains. Besides, genome sequencing has been done on several strains, enables comparison to be done at genome level. In this study, whole genome sequencing on RH strain, one of the type I representative strains that is correlated to several Toxoplasma-induced pathologies, is reported and compared to the archived genomes of other T. gondii strains.
