资源简介:
This study examines how long-term chemical stress shapes soil fungal communities by analysing the mycobiome of a resin-contaminated soil from an abandoned Pinus resin processing site that has remained undisturbed for nearly 50 years. High-throughput sequencing of the fungal ITS2 region was used to compare the taxonomic composition and inferred functional potential of this resinous soil with that of an adjacent forest soil. The dataset explores whether chronic exposure to plant-derived hydrocarbons influences fungal diversity and favours the persistence of extremotolerant or specialized taxa. The dataset provides insights into fungal community structure, taxonomic novelty, and potential hydrocarbon-associated lineages in chemically stressed soils, contributing to a better understanding of fungal adaptation and resilience in polluted or extreme terrestrial environments.
