h3-lowpoints explorer data: closed depressions of the lower 48 US states packed for web browsers
收藏资源简介:
The data the h3-lowpoints explorer web app reads in the browser: every closed depression on land in the lower 48 US states, packed by H3 resolution-4 region (4,576 packs) so a web page can load one place at a time with one HTTP range request, plus NOAA Atlas 14 rainfall depths (storms of 1 to 48 hours, return periods of 1 to 1,000 years) per H3 resolution-7 cell, to say how rare a storm is. Built with the h3-lowpoints library 0.5.0 from the national depression dataset, version 0.3 (doi:10.5281/zenodo.23731345). It adds no new analysis: the published dataset is rearranged for browsers, with the water each depression receives from neighbouring regions precomputed for storms of 0 to 1,000 mm. The format and the tools that build and read it are in the repository (app/src/pack.js, app/tools/). The same files are mirrored on Hugging Face (huggingface.co/datasets/h3-lowpoints/explorer-data). Checks: the app's simulator equals the library to rounding (relative difference 1e-15) on these packs in Node and Chrome. Limits: 30 m terrain; storm drains and pumps not included; storms treated as totals; Atlas 14 does not cover Washington and Oregon. Not a flood forecast or warning.
