To investigate the function of Malpighian tubules on host wasting, we established a fly model of tumor-induced wasting by activation of an oncogene Yki in adult intestinal stem cells (ISCs) for 8 days to cause gut-tumor formation and systemic organ wasting and metabolic abnormalities.
