Artemisia annua Data Zambia by J Ngwisha et al

This study evaluated the antimicrobial activity and phytochemical profile of Artemisia annua extracts collected from Zambia, highlighting potential applications in combating Antimicrobial resistance. Utilizing disk diffusion and broth microdilution methods, we assessed the efficacy of various solvent extracts against a range of bacterial strains, including Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Streptococcus agalactiae. Our findings reveal significant activity against a spectrum of bacteria, with the ethanol extract displaying superior efficacy. These results advocate for Artemisia annua as a promising candidate in the development of new antibacterial agents.
