Development of Magneto-responsive Assemblies based on Iron Oxide Nanoparticle for Controlled Drug Delivery

This study developed magnetic nanoparticles enclosed in liposomes that can carry and release cancer drugs in a controlled way. These liposomes were used as emulsion stabilizer and made into beads that protect the drug from stomach acid and release it slowly in the colon. When exposed to a magnetic field, the beads heat up and release the drug more effectively. Tested on 3D tumor models, this method showed promising results in improving colon cancer treatment while reducing side effects. It could lead to more precise and effective ways to deliver cancer drugs in the future.
