Expanding the Reactivity of Magnesium(I) Complexes Towards Organic Molecules for Applications within Organic Synthesis

This thesis explores the reactivity of dimagnesium(I) systems towards various organic substrates. Magnesium(I) compounds are well established reductants for organometallic synthesis, however their application within organic synthesis is somewhat underdeveloped. This work expands on the organic reactivity of these compounds in order to build larger and more complex value-added products.
