Sugar Process Fluorescence Data

Fluorescence measurements can follow changes in an industrial sugar process over time. data.mat contains 268 eight-hour shift-average samples collected during a three-month autumn 1995 campaign at the final centrifuge operation of a Scandinavian sugar plant. X has shape 268 x 3997, with DimX [268, 571, 7] mapping the unfolded fluorescence matrix to sample x emission x excitation. EmAx covers 275-560 nm in 0.5 nm steps, and ExAx contains seven excitation wavelengths. The fluorescence measurements used 2.25 g sugar in 15 mL unbuffered water. The file also includes y colour and ash quality variables, Lab laboratory measurements, Proc process measurements, time codes, and dimension vectors.
