Input data set for Techno-economic assessment and capacity optimization of res-idential PV self-consumption systems: An approach applied in emerging contexts

Photovoltaic solar energy generation profiles obtained from the Photovoltaic Geographic Information System (PVGIS), a tool recognized for its accuracy in estimating the solar resource, are presented. The production profiles were generated with an hourly resolution for an annual period, considering two main sources: (i) historical hourly production data for several years, and (ii) information corresponding to the Typical Meteorological Year (TMY) specific to each location analyzed. This strategy allowed to capture in a representative way the local climatic conditions and the variability of the solar resource. In addition, the electricity consumption profiles were prepared with daily hourly resolution and were compared with real data supplied by distribution companies. This comparison validated the representativeness of the modeled profiles in relation to real consumption patterns, both at the residential level by socioeconomic strata and in the commercial and industrial sectors, throughout the year. Accurate electricity supply and demand profiles are essential to rigorously assess the technical and economic viability of distributed photovoltaic systems.
