STYLISTIC AND COGNITIVE ASPECTS OF METAPHOR AND METONYMY IN THE ENGLISH AND UZBEK LANGUAGES

This article examines the stylistic and cognitive functions of metaphor and metonymy in English and Uzbek, using literary texts in both languages and their translations as primary data. It analyzes figurative expressions to reveal cross-cultural linguistic patterns and explores translation strategies aimed at preserving conceptual meaning and stylistic richness across languages.
