The object of the Survey Co-ordination Bill, 1949, was to provide for the co-ordination of surveys and for the establishment of a central plan office for the recording of surveys and plans and information related to the same and related purposes. The papers include the following: correspondence relating to the UNESCO Bulletin entitled Report on Co-ordination of Cartographic Services of Specialised Agencies and International Organisations; correspondence relating to the replacement of permanent marks at Wallsend; copies of the Survey Co-ordination Act in states other than New South Wales; copies of the proposed bill; and an organisational chart of the Government Mapping Organisation.
