CONTENTS metadata_and_habitat.csv Sample metadata and habitat composition of localities diet_rbcL_genus_RRA.csv Genus-level relative read abundance, rbcL marker diet_ITS2_genus_RRA.csv Genus-level relative read abundance, ITS2 marker OMITTED DATA Precise cull locations (grid references and eastings/northings) are withheld to protect landowner interests and reduce the risk of misuse. Habitat variables in metadata_and_habitat.csv are derived from those locations (proportional area of each EUNIS level 2 habitat type within a 500 m buffer), so all analyses in the paper can be reproduced without them. Values are relative read abundances: read counts normalised within each sample, so each sample column sums to 1. Genera representing <1% of reads in a sample were removed before normalisation, so a value of 0 means the genus was not detected above that threshold in that sample. NOTES - 200 deer were sampled; libraries were successfully constructed for 198. - Habitat data are available for the 190 individuals with recorded cull locations. LICENCE [e.g. CC-BY-4.0]
