Oil palm is the largest source of edible oil. Studies on the genome will help identify genes or markers that are associated with important traits. To achieve this, genomic sequences from the hypomethylated or gene-rich regions of the Elaeis guineensis genome was sequenced and annotated. The data represent an important resource for oil palm genes and genetic markers.
