Biological Properties and Clinical Readiness of A83-01-Treated Endometrial Mesenchymal Stem Cells

This thesis explores endometrial mesenchymal stem cells, which can be isolated from the uterine lining and can repair damaged tissues, as potential therapy for conditions such as pelvic organ prolapse. A clinical challenge is that these cells transform or deteriorate when expanded in the lab, reducing their healing abilities. The study investigates the effects of a small molecule, A83-01, on cell growth and maintenance of healing functions, as well as the impact of its withdrawal before clinical use. By combining molecular analyses and functional tests, the thesis suggests quality checks for producing safer and more consistent therapeutic cells.
