Geothermal energy from a depth of up to 400 metres is referred to as near-surface geothermal energy. The permit and the economic efficiency of the use as well as the type of technology used depend on the respective geological conditions and groundwater conditions. The map provides an initial overview of the site conditions and possible uses for geothermal probes, geothermal collectors and groundwater heat pumps.
