Our studies are to analyse the subgenomes, epigenomes and gene expressions in the nascent allo-octoploid lineage derived from intergeneric hybridization of female goldfish (Carassius auratus) and male common carp (Cyprinus carpio). Our goals are focused on that a series of these concerted changes may recover regulatory systems of gene expression and fitness from destroying by genome merger, shedding a light on origin of polyploidization in vertebrate evolution.
