Langley, 48, Longshore dispatcher, and Bert O'Brien, discuss PE--lumber freight train crash. Langley slightly dazed when hurled against seat, recovered to rush to forward part of train from rear and pull O'Brien from motorman section jammed with lumber. Fortunately, lumber missed O'Brien by inches, but pinned him in corner of compartment. Scene: San Pedro Emergency Hospital. Langley had cut on left cheek and bruises. No. 2: Bert O'Brien, motorman, tells officer Mel Sawyer how his PE car crashed into parked lumber freight train of Harbor Belt Line near Associated Oil dock on San Pedro--Wilmington Road. No. 3: On bench in San Pedro Emergency Hospital: A. E. langley, cut cheek; Conductor Hugh E. Wilson, head bandaged, most seriously hurt of five injured. (If third man shows near camera he is Billy Billings, a seaman, knee slightly injured. Other shsots at scene of wreck: Man in overcoat is P. A. Stephens, supervisor for Harbor Belt Line. Switch engine pulling lumber flats is a Harbor Belt Line engine".
