收藏资源简介:
This study examines the main psychological problems experienced by athletes during the competition period, their causes, impact on performance, and possible solutions. In addition to high-level physical preparation, sports performance requires strong psychological stability. During competitions, athletes often face psychological challenges such as stress, anxiety, fear, lack of self-confidence, and decreased concentration. These factors can negatively affect an athlete’s functional abilities and prevent them from achieving optimal performance. The research systematically analyzes the types of psychological problems commonly observed in athletes. Among the most frequent are pre-competition anxiety, emotional tension, decreased motivation, social pressure (from coaches, spectators, and teammates), and fear of failure. It is also emphasized that individual psychological characteristics, level of preparation, and competitive experience play a significant role in either intensifying or reducing these issues.Furthermore, the study highlights effective strategies to overcome psychological difficulties. These include psychological training exercises, autogenic training, visualization techniques, breathing exercises, development of positive thinking, working with a sports psychologist, and creating a supportive environment by coaches. Special attention is given to improving stress resilience, enhancing self-regulation skills, and strengthening adaptation to competitive conditions. The findings of this study have practical significance for sports educators, coaches, and sports psychologists, as they contribute to optimizing athletes’ psychological states and achieving higher sports performance.
